My story (Zane) of how Miah and I met. And this is my story (Miah) of how Zane and I met.

To start my story, I have to take us back exactly a week before we met (March 8th). I was in my room at home, praying and journaling. Below is the exact prayer I wrote one week before meeting Miah.

Titled “Prayer for my Wife”

Wherever you are, whatever you're going through- just know that I am praying for you. We may not know each other yet, but I already feel our connection. I know that you are somewhere in the world facing challenges and enjoying life. I know that you're going to be the perfect woman. Amazing Wife, Amazing Mother, Brown hair, Blue eyes, and loves wrestling. We will have a huge attraction towards each other instantly. I pray that we are both asking the Lord not to be in a rush to meet each other because life with you will be the day that our world changes and I want us to be prepared and ready for that for each other, but in the same breath, I am always looking for you ;)

I can't wait to see you.

On that same exact Monday (March 8th), I (Miah), was on my way back home to my apartment in Troy praying for my future husband. Praying for god to lead me to a man with a laundry list of traits that I thought would be perfect for me. I would soon be able to check off everything from that list. So ladies, be specific lol!

Here we are. Fast forward 1 week after my prayer to the High School State Wrestling Tournament. This weekend I was fully invested in helping our boys get on the state podium. I spent a lot of time with Ethan Kuhns, drilling with him, guiding him, and being the best coach that I could be to help him achieve his goal of getting as high on the podium as he could. Despite all this business and focus, I kept having this undeniable feeling in my gut that my future wife was somewhere at the tournament. I even told Ethan and the other coaches out loud about the feelings I was having.

I, on the other hand, was at the State Wrestling Tournament for a totally different reason. I was there to enjoy cheering on all of the male and female wrestlers that I work with as a Dietitian. The last thing on my mind was to find anyone at the meet, even though there are hundreds of men my age at this very tournament.

Saturday night after the semi-finals matches, I called my mom and explained the feelings I was having, mentioning that I was taking extra laps around the building in hopes of finding her. Finally, I gave in to trying to find her on my own and continuously prayed in my frustration, "Lord, if she is here, make it so clear that I don't have to do anything; let her find me."

The next day, my sister and I were walking up to the sweet where one of my wrestlers' parents invited us to watch the finals, when I saw Zane for the first time. When we looked at each other, I was reminded of my prayer from March 8th. I immediately felt that I was looking at my future husband. I even told my sister that. We then went our separate ways and I didn’t think about it until our drive home.

As the state tournament concluded and the finals finished, the coaching staff, wrestlers, and I were down on the floor celebrating Ethan and Rayce being on the podium. Amidst the celebrations, I felt defeated, thinking my prayers and feelings had gone to waste. All of a sudden, at 11:06 PM, I received an Instagram follow and a direct message from Miah.

As I’m driving home, I told my sister that I needed her to pull out her detective skills and find my husband. We ended up needing backup from a friend but we eventually found him. We found his instagram and I was pressured to DM him even though that was SO weird to do. I’ve never done that before but I knew there would be no other way to message him.

I thought to myself with a smile on my face wrapped ear to ear…. Wow, here she is. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Literally at the moment I thought “well, here's my wife.” Unfortunately, my phone was on extremely low battery, and by the time I got home, it was very late, so I had to keep Miah on the edge of her seat until the morning. I then replied to her, and as we are witnessing, the rest is history.

Unfortunately, I saw that he opened my message and I thought, welp this man obviously has a girlfriend. He can’t look like that and not have a girlfriend. So I was at my 5 am workout with my friend telling her all about how I found my husband but he won’t even reply!!! But I was patient… kind of… and he eventually messaged me back. A week later, the day we officially met, he asked me to be his girlfriend. Ever since that day that I saw him, we continue to get signs from God that we are on the right path together.

Miah, I love you so much. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you.
